I'm just back from fishing - a few days with friends, Nigel and John, on a very private lake with an established stock of carp: glorious company, wonderful scenery and a fair bit of carping
action. Just what the doctor ordered! I managed eight carp - four 'nines' and four 'doubles' to 13lb 10oz. All were fooled on floating crust, often crusts that had been squirted with a scopex flavour beforehand, to add to the attraction. I also caught a really
minuscule common on a popped-up, ledgered boilie, but I'm not counting that one, even though it produced a most exhilarating run that really got the bobbin jumping... Happy days all told. Our combined tally was 15, not including the 'scamp' - which I think
was pretty good going for this time of year.
